CareerResidency Leadership Experience and Development (LEAD) Retreat
Students in the CareerResidency program learned how to work together in the first Leadership, Experience, and Development (L.E.A.D) Retreat last week in Estes Park.
The event gathered 60 + DPS CareerConnect students with the purpose of motivating them to feel a greater sense of involvement and build a real team atmosphere.
The agenda included different fun and constructive activities like
- Team-building outdoor ropes course
- Arts and crafts
- Group campfire
- Guided Hiking
As the retreat unfolded, we were excited to see our DPS students build their community, demonstrate clear leadership abilities, and reveal their quickly developing teamwork and soft skills.
The CareerResidency Youth Apprenticeship Program is an optional three-year program offered by DPS CareerConnect. The students split their time between the classroom and a workplace/training facility, earning an associate degree and receiving financial benefits. Applications for the next CareerResidency cohort will open in October 2017 for current high school sophomores and juniors.
