Dr. Bonds began his education career after completing a Bachelor of Science Degree at Kansas State University in Elementary Education. While at Kansas State University, Dr. Bonds participated in and lettered in track four years, while also completing his six years of service in the Marine Corps Reserves. His work experience includes two years teaching 5th grade at the elementary level, one each in Junction City Kansas and one in Austin Texas. In addition to teaching at the elementary level, Dr. Bonds spent an additional five years teaching Social Studies at Junction City Junior High School, in Junction City, Kansas. While working in Junction City Dr. Bonds returned to Kansas State and completed a Masters Degree in School Administration. After completing a year of teaching in Austin Texas, Dr. Bonds began his administrative career as an assistant principal at the middle school level in Wichita, Kansas. In addition to his time as an administrator at both the elementary and middle school levels in Wichita, Dr. Bonds has served as a middle school principal in Baltimore County Maryland, an elementary principal in Baltimore City, Maryland, St. Charles, Missouri and the Widefield School District in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Prior to joining the Regional Support Team and serving as Assistant Commissioner for Turnaround and Intervention at the Colorado Department of Education, Dr. Bonds served as the Assistant Director for Human Resources in the Widefield School District in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dr. Bonds completed his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership through Capella University.
In addition to his thirty-one years as an educator, Dr. Bonds is married to Jennifer, who is an assistant principal in the Widefield School district and the proud father of six daughters, Morgan, who is a surgeon, Lauren, a lawyer, Chelsie, a school teacher, Cassie, a teacher, Cambria, who is freshmen in college studying to be a nurse and Graceyn who is five years old.
